Race simulator rental in Los Angeles

In shortThere is no operating road course or oval in LA County. A motion simulator is a named fire-department trigger here, and temporary structures need a wet-stamped seismic plan.

We ship rigs into Los Angeles and staff them. Freight is inside the quoted price.

This is the market where the most published information is wrong. There is no operating racetrack in Los Angeles County, and a demolished one is still being sold to people today.

The gap

What happened to racing in Los Angeles

Los Angeles County has no operating road course and no operating oval. That is not a rhetorical setup, it is the current state of the market, and almost nothing written about this city reflects it.

Irwindale Speedway closed permanently on 12/21/2024, taking the county's last oval and its last drag strip. It had survived a bankruptcy in 2012, a demolition plan in 2015 and an announced closure in 2017 that was reversed, which is precisely why stale content insisting it is open still circulates.

Auto Club Speedway in Fontana ran its last Cup race on 02/26/2023 and closed the following day. Demolition began in October 2023. Its on-site drag strip had already closed in December 2021. The replacement short track is on hold rather than delayed, and by 2025, 433 of the speedway's 522 acres had been sold for warehouses and an industrial park, with buildings going up on the sites of Turns 1 and 2.

NASCAR has left the city entirely. The Clash ran at the LA Memorial Coliseum in 2022, 2023 and 2024, then moved to Bowman Gray Stadium, where it remains.

And here is the part that makes this worth a section rather than a footnote. On 11/02/2026 we checked, and a major experience marketplace is currently selling an Auto Club Speedway driving experience, with a book-now button and the Fontana address as the departure point. A separate enthusiast guide still lists the speedway as an active road course with two configurations and marks nothing as closed.

A planner searching for a Los Angeles racing experience will find bookable listings for a venue that has been substantially demolished. That is why we verify operating status on every venue we name on this site rather than repeating a directory, and it is why the honest answer to what is left in this market is a short one.

What remains

What actually remains, with the distances

Operating status verified 11/02/2026. Distances marked as approximate come from a single source and should be confirmed against a mapping tool before you plan around them.

The honest commercial argument, and in Los Angeles it is stronger than anywhere else we work. The demand for a driving experience is here, concentrated, and well funded. The supply inside the county is gone. Everything that remains is a drive of an hour or more each way, which for a group that is already in a building downtown costs most of a working day before anyone drives anything.

Labor

The labor rules, and the one right Los Angeles gives you

California is not right-to-work, and this market does not resemble our Texas or Florida ones. But it is also not simply stricter: Los Angeles grants a right that none of our other markets do.

Self-install is gated on time, not booth size. You may set up your own display if one person can do it in under an hour without tools. Beyond that, union personnel supplied by the official contractor are required. A 2026 kit for a different LACC show states the window as 30 minutes instead, so the honest answer is that it is show-specific and contractor-specific somewhere in that range, and the controlling document is your show's own manual.

The one-to-one rule. Where union labor is required, you may provide your own company personnel to work alongside a union installer on a one-to-one basis. That is genuinely useful on a multi-rig build, because it means our technicians can be hands-on rather than only supervising, which is not true in San Francisco. It does not extend to exhibit house representatives or outside consultants.

Verified across seven markets from venue policies and general service contractor work rules, 11/02/2026.
CityCan your crew plug in the rig?Can your crew use wheels?
ChicagoYes, plugging in and interconnecting is exhibitor workYes, your own non-motorized hand trucks and dollies
OrlandoYes, once power is deliveredHands plus a personal two-wheel cart
Los Angeles120V into ordered outlets yes. Over 120V is union, and over 20 amps combined triggers labor regardlessNo wheels for freight. But the venue separately allows dollies on its floors with underlayment, which is a different rule
New York CityCapped by wattage, inconsistently publishedA personal dolly. Hand carts prohibited
HoustonNo, for anything poweredNo wheels
DallasNo. Electricians onlyNo wheels
San FranciscoNo. The rule names exhibitors and reaches AV connectionsNo wheels at all

The wheels answer here needs the distinction spelled out, because two different rules get conflated and the conflation costs money. Teamsters jurisdiction governs who may move freight: one person, one trip, by hand, no dollies or mechanical equipment, full-time employees only. The venue's own floor protection guideline governs what may roll on its finished floors, and it permits pallet jacks, dollies and road cases on carpet and terrazzo with protective underlayment.

Those rules are about different things. A crew that reads the venue guideline and brings a dolly to move freight will still be stopped by a steward. We have not seen another vendor publish that distinction.

Fire and seismic

A motion simulator is a named trigger here

This is the only market on this site where the fire code names what we do. The LACC's fire life safety guidelines require two sets of plans and drawings for exhibits containing enclosed rooms, multi-level structures, dynamic or moving elements, display materials affecting egress, or exhibits of 400 square feet or larger. A separate clause requires a Fire Department special permit to display or operate any electrical, mechanical or chemical device deemed hazardous.

A motion platform is a dynamic or moving element with an electrical and mechanical drive. Both clauses can be read to apply, and all fire permit requests are due 21 days before the event, with no variance permitted except by written request approved in writing by the Fire Marshal.

Then the seismic requirement, which has no equivalent in our Texas or Florida markets. California builds to seismic zone 4, and the LACC requires a wet-stamped engineered plan, reviewed by both City Building and Safety and the Fire Marshal, for two-story structures, platforms over 30 inches carrying live load, expansive single-story structures of 20 feet or more with overhead beams or truss, video wall structures, and anything over 12 feet outdoors.

Plans are due to the event manager no later than two weeks before move-in, at a minimum 11 by 17 inches, with the engineer's original wet stamp, signature and license expiry. The Fire Marshal will not review a plan without the wet stamp. Towers carry a maximum 3 to 1 height-to-base ratio, so a 15 foot tower needs a base at least 5 feet square unless it is cabled or weighted.

None of this is an obstacle. It is lead time and a drawing set, and it is a large part of why a national operator who already carries the plans is worth more here than a vendor improvising at 21 days.

Halls

Choosing a hall, and the thing the venue does not publish

From the venue's own exhibit brochures, verified 11/02/2026. The two official documents contradict each other on at least one floor load figure, so we quote the hall-level numbers and flag the conflict rather than averaging.
VenueScaleWhat matters operationally
LACC, South Hall G/H/J/K346,890 sq ft, 40 ft ceilings, 350 lb per sq ft floorFreight doors 23 ft 6 in by 37 ft at G and K. 34 docks across the four halls. Floor boxes on 30 ft centers, which is three times the spacing of West Hall and converts directly into electrical distribution labor
LACC, West Hall A/B210,685 sq ft, 36 ft ceilings, 300 lb per sq ft floorHall A's freight door is 52 ft 7 in wide by 25 ft high, the easiest trailer and vehicle access in the building. Floor ports on 10 ft centers. Seven docks
LACC, Kentia Hall162,000 sq ft, 18 ft minimum ceiling, unlimited floor loadThe strongest floor in the building for a heavy motion rig with no height requirement. Six docks and four freight doors at 25 by 15 ft. Columns 30 in diameter on 30 ft centers. Its only published vertical link is a freight elevator to the South Hall dock, with no dimensions given
Crypto.com ArenaOne block from the convention centerHosts the Grammy Awards on 02/07/2027, which matters more for what it does to the district that week than for its own availability
Pasadena Convention CenterIn Pasadena, about 11 miles from downtownA genuinely separate market with its own brochure and its own logistics. Reaching it from downtown runs the 110, a 1940s parkway with no shoulders and sub-20mph on-ramps

The gap worth naming. The Los Angeles Convention Center publishes no freight elevator dimensions, no door dimensions and no capacities anywhere. Both official brochures mark elevator locations on the floor plans and give no numbers at all. Truck ramps appear as map labels with no measurements.

That is a 720,000 square foot exhibition venue in the second-largest metropolitan area in the United States that does not publish a single freight elevator specification. For any build that depends on vertical transport, we get those numbers in writing from the venue before quoting, because the spec sheet does not contain them.

And a difference between halls that converts straight into money. West Hall has floor ports on 10 foot centers. South Hall has them on 30. All floor distribution of electrical wiring is contractor jurisdiction and the materials must be supplied by them, so a multi-sim island in South Hall can be three times further from power than the same island in West, and you pay for every foot of it.

Power spec

Cords, power strips and a $300 fee

Stricter here than most markets, with a published penalty behind it. All wiring must be three-wire grounded cord at a minimum of 14 gauge, and exhibitor-supplied cords must be flat when used for floor work. Power strips must have circuit protection.

Prohibited outright: cube taps, multi-headed extension cords, daisy-chained power strips, two-wire or zip cords, clip-on sign sockets, latex or lamp cord wire, and two-wire clamp-on fixtures.

Booths can be inspected, a fee of $300 may be assessed for a safety or rules violation, and if an exhibitor declines to correct it, electrical service to that booth will not be connected. We build to this specification as standard. It is worth knowing if anyone on your side is bringing their own equipment.

Calendar

The Los Angeles calendar

Verified against venue and organizer sources, 11/02/2026. The venue's public event list showed no 2027 entries at all when we checked, so several dates come from organizers directly and some are not yet published.

The Grammys land at Crypto.com Arena on 02/07, one block from the convention center, and Super Bowl LXI follows at SoFi Stadium on 02/14, with NFL Honors, Opening Night and the Super Bowl Experience filling the days between. It is a compound collision rather than a single event, and it is the one calendar fact in this market that can save a planner real money.

Hotels

Where to stay, and why nothing connects

No venue, hotel or convention bureau source we read claims an enclosed or covered pedestrian connection between any hotel and the LACC exhibit floor. Every one of these requires crossing a surface street, and with W Pico Blvd closed around the clock through 03/31/2028 and no truck detour published by the venue, several natural walking and driving lines are disrupted.

Distances and tiers from a travel platform source updated 10/20/2026. We publish no rates.

Logistics

Getting around, and two things people get wrong

Metro to the venueBetter than its reputationPico Station is about an eight minute walk on two rail lines. Four lines within 15 minutes. Better connected than Dallas or Orlando are to their convention centers
LAXAbout 18 miles southwestThe people mover is still not carrying passengers as of 11/02/2026, postponed more than once, with a February 2027 target reported. Plan transfers on shuttle buses
Long Beach AirportThe right airport for the Grand PrixIf the job is at the Long Beach Convention Center or the street circuit, LAX is the mistake
John WayneThe right airport for AnaheimAnd if the job is in Anaheim, Los Angeles is the wrong frame entirely
Traffic87 hours lost, fourth in the USBehind Chicago at 112, New York at 102 and Philadelphia at 101. Bad, not worst, and the cliche causes over-provisioning
The rule that costs moneyTrucks signing in after 2:00 PMMay be charged at the overtime rate. Straight time runs 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, so controlling your arrival window is worth real money
MarshallingNone published on siteThe nearest published staging is a contractor advance warehouse in Orange County, roughly 25 to 30 miles out

The distance mistakes worth naming, because they are the ones that break schedules here. Anaheim is Orange County, about 28 miles, a different convention center and a different airport. SoFi Stadium is in Inglewood, about 11 miles, across some of the worst corridors in the basin. The Rose Bowl and the Pasadena Convention Center are in Pasadena, reached on a 1940s parkway with no shoulders and sub-20mph on-ramps. The Porsche Experience Center is in Carson, about 17 miles south.

We ask for the venue address before quoting travel, labor or a day rate in this market, every single time.

Outings

Taking a client out

Petersen Automotive Museum. The strongest thematic fit in Los Angeles for a racing client, and a serious private events business rather than a museum that tolerates them. Published spaces run from a 20-person boardroom up to 500 reception on the Industry floor, with a preferred caterer network, a car elevator, and a lighting-equipped photo studio stage measuring 28 by 18 feet with 12 feet of height. Note the private events page publishes neither the street address nor public hours, so confirm both.

GRAMMY Museum. The best outing here purely on walkability: a client can finish on the show floor and be inside in ten minutes. Full private event and buyout program with published capacities, and an exclusive caterer. Confirm the closed days directly, because the hours table on their own page reads as misaligned.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. Published tour pricing from $79 for about three hours up to $330 for a six-hour deluxe tour including lunch at the Commissary. It is in Burbank, about 13 miles out, which in Los Angeles means an hour each way at the wrong time of day. Only book it with a half day set aside, and note the tours themselves run three to six hours.

Honest

The competitor we are going to tell you about

The Porsche Experience Center in Carson is the best real on-track corporate option in this market, and we would rather name it than have you discover it after you have booked us.

It also runs a simulator lab as the off-track activity for guests who are not driving. That is simultaneously a competitor and the clearest validation of our category we could point at. A facility whose entire business is putting people in real cars still needs simulators to handle the people who are waiting, because throughput is the binding constraint at every driving event that has ever been run.

So the honest split. If your group is small, your date is flexible, and a real car on a real circuit is the point, go to Carson. If your group is large, your date is fixed by a show, and your people are already in a building downtown, a staffed simulator row serves all of them on your date in your room, and a 17 mile each-way transfer serves a fraction of them.

The same logic applies to the Grand Prix of Long Beach in April, except there the better move is usually both: an activation inside an event that already has the audience.

Honest

Proof, stated honestly

We have not published a named Los Angeles case study on this page, and we are not going to imply one. When we do it will name the client, the venue and the number they were measured on.

What is checkable today is everything above. The venue specifications, the fire and seismic requirements, the labor jurisdictions, the calendar and every operating status came from venue documentation, general service contractor work rules, fire life safety guidelines and organizer sources read on 11/02/2026.

Where sources disagree we have said so: two official venue brochures give different floor loads for the same hall, two contractor documents give a one hour and a 30 minute self-install window, and the plug-in rule is stated permissively by one contractor and restrictively by two others. And where a venue publishes nothing, as the convention center does for every freight elevator in the building, we have said that too, because the absence is the finding.

Questions

Los Angeles questions

Is there a racetrack near Los Angeles we could take the team to?

Not inside Los Angeles County, and this is the most misunderstood fact in this market. There is no operating road course or oval anywhere in LA County.

Irwindale Speedway closed permanently on 12/21/2024, taking the county's last oval and its last drag strip with it. Auto Club Speedway in Fontana ran its final Cup race on 02/26/2023, closed the next day, and demolition began in October 2023. Its on-site drag strip had already closed in December 2021.

What remains is a drive: Willow Springs at about 79 miles over the Tehachapi grade, Buttonwillow at about 134, Chuckwalla at about 182 and at least three hours. The Thermal Club near Palm Springs is a private residential community whose own site publishes no corporate hire path at all.

I found a company selling driving experiences at Auto Club Speedway. Is that real?

No, and we checked this specifically on 11/02/2026 because it is the kind of thing that wastes a planner's week.

A major experience marketplace is currently selling an Auto Club Speedway driving experience with a book-now button, listing the Fontana address as the departure point. The track it departs from has been substantially demolished. By 2025, 433 of the speedway's 522 acres had been sold for warehouse and industrial development, with buildings going up on the sites of Turns 1 and 2. The replacement short track is on hold, not merely delayed.

We flag it because a stale listing you can actually click buy on is worse than a stale article, and it is the reason we verify operating status on every venue we name rather than repeating a directory.

Can our crew plug in the simulators in Los Angeles?

Partly, and the limit is amperage rather than permission. The general service contractor's own union jurisdiction page for an LACC show states that exhibitors may plug in their own 120 volt plugs into outlets they have ordered, while anything over 120 volts is plugged in by union electricians.

Then the conditions, from the same document. Total combined wattage in the booth over 20 amps requires electrical booth work labor regardless. Labor is required to inspect and hook up equipment that is pre-wired to plug into their system. All distribution of electrical wiring is contractor jurisdiction and the materials for floor distribution must come from them. No outside or additional power sources are allowed. Sharing power or plugging into facility outlets is strictly prohibited.

A multi-simulator build crosses 20 amps quickly, so in practice this is a labor line for us rather than a self-service one, and we quote it that way.

One disagreement we will not paper over. Two other Los Angeles market sources state flatly that electricians are responsible for all electrical connections, including connecting equipment to outlets. That directly contradicts the contractor page above. The controlling document is the exhibitor services manual for your specific show, and pulling it is the first thing we do.

Can we use a dolly in Los Angeles?

This is the question where two different rules get conflated, and the conflation costs money.

For moving freight, no. One person, one trip, by hand, with no dollies, hand trucks or other mechanical equipment, and only full-time employees of the exhibiting company. That is Teamsters jurisdiction and it is consistent across every source we read.

For protecting the floor, the venue says something different. The LACC's own floor protection guideline permits pallet jacks, dollies and road cases on carpeted and terrazzo surfaces provided a protective underlayment is used, and allows dollies without underlayment where the volume is low and the casters will not mark the floor.

Those two rules are about different things. The venue guideline governs what may roll across its finished floors. The union jurisdiction governs who may move freight. A crew that reads the venue guideline and brings a dolly will still be stopped by a steward. We have not seen anyone else publish that distinction, and it is the one that catches out-of-town vendors.

How much can our own staff set up?

Los Angeles gates self-install on time rather than booth size, which is unusual. The rule at the LACC, in the contractor's own words, is that you may set up your own display if one person can accomplish the task in under one hour without tools. Beyond that, union personnel supplied by the official contractor are required.

And Los Angeles grants a right that none of our other markets do. Where union labor is required, you may provide your own company personnel to work alongside a union installer on a one-to-one basis. That is genuinely useful on a multi-rig build, because our technicians can be hands-on rather than only supervising. It does not extend to exhibit house representatives or outside consultants, and the unions have been qualifying non-union personnel on the floor in recent years.

One honest caveat: a 2026 show kit for a different LACC event states the window as 30 minutes rather than one hour. The window is show-specific and contractor-specific, somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour, and the only way to know yours is to read your show's manual. Which is itself the most useful thing we can tell you.

Does a motion simulator trigger anything special with the fire department here?

Yes, and Los Angeles is the only market on this site where it is named explicitly. The LACC's fire life safety guidelines require two sets of plans and drawings for exhibits containing enclosed rooms, multi-level structures, dynamic or moving elements, display materials affecting egress, or exhibits of 400 square feet or larger.

A motion platform is a dynamic or moving element with an electrical and mechanical drive. A separate clause requires a Fire Department special permit to display or operate any electrical, mechanical or chemical device deemed hazardous. Both can be read to apply.

All fire permit requests must be submitted 21 days before the event, and the guidelines state that no variance is permitted without a written request approved in writing by the LACC Fire Marshal.

This is a lead-time item and a drawing deliverable rather than an obstacle, and it is one of the reasons a national operator who already carries the plan set is worth more here than a vendor improvising.

What is the seismic requirement we keep hearing about?

California builds to seismic zone 4, and the LACC applies it to temporary structures. A wet-stamped engineered plan is required, reviewed by both the City of Los Angeles Building and Safety Department and the LACC Fire Marshal, for any of the following:

1. Two-story structures.
2. Platforms and stages over 30 inches high intended to carry live load.
3. Expansive single-story structures of 20 feet or more containing overhead beams, signage, truss or cantilevers of considerable weight or span.
4. Video wall structures.
5. Structures over 12 feet high built in an exterior area.

Plans go to the LACC event manager no later than two weeks before move-in, drawn to scale at a minimum of 11 by 17 inches, with full architectural and structural detail from a licensed engineer registered in the United States, carrying the engineer's original wet stamp, signature and license expiry date. The Fire Marshal will not review a temporary structure plan without a wet stamp.

Relevant numbers if you are designing a surround: towers and narrow walls carry a maximum height-to-base ratio of 3 to 1 in each direction, so a 15 foot tower needs a base at least 5 feet square, unless it is cabled to rigging points or weighted. Decks carry a minimum 125 pounds per square foot live load rating.

Which hall should we be in?

It depends which constraint binds, and the differences here are larger than most venues.

West Hall has 36 foot ceilings, a 300 pound per square foot floor, floor ports on 10 foot centers, and a freight door at Hall A measuring 52 feet 7 inches wide by 25 feet high, which is drive-in scale and the easiest vehicle access in the building.

South Hall has 40 foot ceilings, a 350 pound floor, and the largest freight doors at G and K at 23 feet 6 inches by 37 feet. But its floor ports sit on 30 foot centers rather than 10, so on a multi-sim island you can be three times further from power than in West Hall. All floor distribution of electrical wiring is contractor jurisdiction and the materials must come from them, so that distance converts directly into labor and material you pay for.

Kentia Hall has an unlimited floor load rating and an 18 foot minimum ceiling. For heavy motion rigs with no height requirement it is the strongest floor in the building, though it is also the least prestigious hall and has 30 inch columns on 30 foot centers.

Will the freight elevator take a motion rig?

We cannot tell you from a published document, and that absence is worth stating plainly. The Los Angeles Convention Center publishes no freight elevator dimensions and no capacities anywhere. Both official brochures mark elevator locations on the floor plans with no car dimensions, no door dimensions and no weights. Truck ramps appear as map labels with no measurements.

That is a 720,000 square foot exhibition venue in the second-largest metropolitan area in the country that does not publish a single freight elevator specification. Kentia Hall's only published vertical link is a freight elevator to the South Hall dock, with no car or door size given.

So for any build that depends on vertical transport here, we get the numbers from the venue in writing before quoting rather than from a spec sheet, because the spec sheet does not contain them.

What cords and power strips can we bring?

Stricter here than most markets, with a published penalty. All wiring must be three-wire grounded cord at a minimum of 14 gauge, and exhibitor-supplied cords must be flat when used for floor work. Multi-outlet devices such as power strips must have circuit protection.

Prohibited outright: cube taps, multi-headed extension cords, daisy-chaining of power strips, two-wire or zip cords, clip-on sign sockets, latex or lamp cord wire, and two-wire clamp-on fixtures.

Booths can be inspected, a fee of $300 may be assessed for a safety or rules violation, and if the exhibitor declines to correct it, electrical service to that booth will not be connected. We build to this spec as standard, but it is worth knowing if anyone is bringing their own gear.

When should we avoid booking Los Angeles?

February 2027, and specifically 02/08/2027 to 02/14/2027. It is a compound collision rather than one event.

The Grammy Awards are at Crypto.com Arena on 02/07/2027, which is one block from the convention center. Super Bowl LXI is at SoFi Stadium on 02/14/2027, with NFL Honors, Opening Night and the Super Bowl Experience filling the days between. Convention district hotel inventory will be committed to NFL and sponsor blocks, and anything at the LACC that week competes with both.

After that: Anime Expo on 07/02 to 07/05/2027 brings over 100,000 attendees across the July 4th weekend and effectively fills the building. The LA Auto Show takes every hall and all three meeting room series for ten public days plus press days in late November, overlapping Thanksgiving, though 2027 dates are not published yet. And the LA Marathon on 03/07/2027 is a single day that closes a cross-city route on a Sunday morning, which breaks move-in drive times across the whole basin.

Is Los Angeles traffic as bad as everyone says?

Bad, and not the worst, which is worth knowing because the cliche causes over-provisioning. On the 2025 congestion scorecard Los Angeles drivers lost 87 hours, which is fourth in the United States, behind Chicago at 112, New York at 102 and Philadelphia at 101.

The thing that actually costs money here is not average congestion, it is a contractor rule: trucks signing in after 2:00 PM may be charged at the overtime rate, and straight time runs 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. A crew that cannot control its arrival window pays contractor overtime for the privilege. That is the reason we rent a vehicle and control our own timing rather than running a rig crew on rideshare.

Does Metro actually reach the convention center?

Yes, and better than the city's reputation suggests. Pico Station sits roughly an eight minute walk away and is served by two rail lines, the A and the E. The 7th Street Metro Center hub adds two more lines at a 10 to 15 minute walk. Several bus lines, a DASH route and a bike station serve the venue directly.

That makes Los Angeles better connected to its convention center than Dallas or Orlando are to theirs, which surprises people. Worth knowing because a planner who assumes otherwise over-provisions ground transport for attendees.

One live caveat on arrival. The LAX people mover is still not carrying passengers as of 11/02/2026. The transit center station opened in June 2025, but the automated link to the terminals has been postponed more than once, with a February 2027 target reported. Plan every LAX transfer on shuttle buses and surface roads, and expect the date to move again.

Can we put a car in the booth?

Yes, with a special permit from the LACC Fire Marshal, and the rules have a line that catches people. Fuel tanks no more than a quarter full with locking caps kept locked. Batteries de-energized, or keys secured with a designated event representative. Wheels chocked against rolling. Floor covering underneath. A fire extinguisher rated at least 20BC.

The line people miss: vehicles shall be displayed and installed by manual means, and shall not be driven into occupancy. The car is pushed in.

For electric vehicles there is a useful carve-out. All-electric non-hybrid batteries may remain connected provided the fuses are removed, only during open show hours, and only with a Fire Safety Officer on duty, with the battery disconnected before and after show hours. Hydrogen, fuel cell and other alternative fuel vehicles get case-by-case review with full manufacturer specifications due 30 days before move-in. No vehicles are allowed in a tented area.

And if the vehicle is going to move at a press reveal, that is a separate approval: attendees must be staged behind an approved barrier or at least 10 feet perpendicular to the path, and the perpendicular option requires hiring a Fire Inspector to supervise, booked no later than seven business days ahead, with a fee.

Is there a racing event we could tie an activation to?

Yes, and it is the strongest contextual hook in this market. The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach runs 04/16/2027 to 04/18/2027, an IndyCar street race through a downtown with ten races from six series on the card, including a Historic Formula 1 Challenge new for 2027 and the Super Drift Challenge under lights.

It also sells corporate inventory openly, with published prices, which is rare. Seaside Suites overlooking the Turn 9 braking zone run $28,000 for 25 to 40 guests. Seaside Corner Suites start at $31,500. Pit Row Suites, two stories over pit lane and the front straight, run $86,000 for 30 to 45 guests with food, beverage and paddock access included.

Beyond suites they build custom chalets, activations, product launches and car corrals, advertised for anywhere from 1 to 500 guests, though no sizes, inventory or lead times are published for those. If your activation is motorsport-adjacent, this is the week to target rather than avoid, and Long Beach Airport is the right airport rather than LAX.

What about the Porsche Experience Center?

It is the best real on-track corporate option in the basin and we will tell you so rather than pretend otherwise. It is in Carson, about 17 miles south of the convention center, with nine meeting and event spaces for up to 1,000 people, group drive experiences, on-track team building and in-house catering up to a full facility buyout.

Worth knowing, and we would rather say it than have you find it: they also run a simulator lab as the off-track activity for guests who are not driving. That is both a competitor to what we do and a validation of it, and we read it as the latter. A facility whose entire business is putting people in real cars still needs simulators to handle the people who are waiting, because throughput is the actual constraint at any driving event. That is the same problem we solve, at a different scale and in your building.

Is there karting closer in?

Yes, with published corporate pricing, which is unusual enough to be worth quoting. K1 Speed Burbank publishes a Wine and Dine package at $115 per person including two beer or wine tickets, and a Paddock package at $90 per person including two soft drink tickets. Both carry an eight person minimum, include two 12-lap races with medals and a podium ceremony, two hours of reserved seating and a food package, with two private meeting rooms included for up to two hours. No same-day reservations.

That is a good answer for a group of twenty after a show day. It is a different thing from a branded activation running on your stand during show hours, and we would point you there if that is what you actually need.

Is Anaheim close enough to count as Los Angeles?

No, and treating it as Los Angeles is the classic out-of-town error here. The Anaheim Convention Center is in Orange County, roughly 28 miles away, served by a different airport, and in some respects operating under a different regime.

How different? One industry guide lumps Los Angeles, Ontario, Long Beach, Anaheim and San Diego together as Southern California for union rules, and then notes that Genie lifts are prohibited in San Diego and permitted everywhere else in that group. If the grouping were really one regime, that exception would not exist.

The same error applies to SoFi Stadium, which is in Inglewood, and the Rose Bowl and Pasadena Convention Center, which are in Pasadena. We ask for the venue address before quoting anything in this market, every time.

Tell us the venue, the hall and the dates. Los Angeles has more stale information published about it than any market we work in, and the first thing we will do is check what is actually open and what your show's own manual actually says.
