Race simulators for sales kickoffs

In shortYou are putting competitive people in a room and asking them to bond. A leaderboard is the only activity they will take seriously, and that is exactly why it works.

Sales kickoffs have an unusual property: the audience is professionally competitive and allergic to anything that feels like a team building exercise. Most activations get polite participation. A leaderboard gets genuine effort.

The useful side effect is mixing. A regional bracket puts east against west in a way the agenda never does.

Goals

What it is there to do

Every activation is bought for a reason. These are the ones this event type is usually bought for, and the build changes depending on which one is yours.

Competitive people engage properly

A leaderboard with names on it is the one format a sales floor does not treat as an obligation.

Regional brackets mix the room

East against west, enterprise against mid-market. People who email each other finally meet.

It runs alongside the agenda

Qualifying through breaks, the final at the evening event. It does not need its own session.

The winner is unarguable

A lap time is a number. Nobody debates the result, which matters with this audience more than most.

Format

Running it as a tournament across the week

The format that works at a multi-day kickoff is a tournament rather than an activation, and it costs nothing extra to run it that way.

Day one: open qualifying during breaks. Everyone drives. The leaderboard goes up where people queue for coffee.

Day two: the cut, posted publicly. This is the part that generates the chat, because people discover overnight that they have been knocked out by someone from another region.

Evening: head-to-head finals on two rigs, in front of the room. Ten minutes, and it is the thing people remember from the week.

Two rigs is not optional for this format. You cannot run head-to-head finals on one, and the finals are the point.

Cost

Pricing in context

Two rigs across a two-day kickoff is the standard build. Both rigs can run the full programme, and the second costs less than the first because one crew and one freight movement cover both.

Questions

What people ask about sales kickoffs

Will people actually take part?

More than at any other event type we run. The audience selects for competitiveness, and a leaderboard with names is the one thing that does not read as mandated fun.

Can we tie it to our own sales metrics?

Not inside the simulator, and we would not pretend otherwise. What works is running the racing leaderboard alongside your own, as a parallel competition with its own prize.

How much time does it take out of the agenda?

None, if you run qualifying through breaks. The only scheduled item is the final, which is ten minutes at the evening event.

What if the group is very large?

Above about 300, qualifying across two days and two rigs is the realistic shape. Not everybody will drive, and the leaderboard still works, because watching your region's standing is most of the engagement.

Can we brand it to the kickoff theme?

Yes. Cockpit wrap, custom backdrop and on-screen branding all carry the theme, and the backdrop is yours to keep afterwards.

Next

Team building. When cohesion matters more than competition.

Conferences. The same leaderboard logic at larger scale.

How many rigs. Why two is the floor for head-to-head.
